Flow & Difficulty
All levels in Prototype 3 rely on "flow". Easier levels are easier because the hand movements required to navigate them nicely tie into each other. Harder levels have sharper turns and less consistent geometry. Discovering what had a "nice flow" was mainly a result of playtesting.

Each level also has a score goal. This, combined with the layout, let me finely edit the difficulty curve. The score goals are not as impactful as the level layout though.

Players score points by going through checkpoints in the level. How many checkpoints there are and their sizes and layout also affect the difficulty.
Levels
"Worm" has a simple layout with few checkpoints and wide gaps
"Eight" is not much harder, it has a higher score goal though.

"Razor" has a single narrow gap. It can be hard to reach at high speed.

"Crown" has a complex geometry, and medium-sized gaps only.

"P3" is the last level. It has 3 narrow gaps and unnatural geometry.
